Attempted to assemble the carbs / intake manifold but can't figure out which fixings to use. The assembly guide is useless for anything to do with the assembly of the engine ancillaries. There were some studs that looked like they were for the threaded holes in the intake manifold, so I "Locktited" them in place. |

Found the web site of the company that makes the special intake manifolds for Caterham and they had a picture of a couple of Weber DCOE carb's fitted to the manifold, so I was able to finish putting together the carb / manifold assembly. It looks fantastic! Started fitting the hood (aka roof) - what a pain! The damn thing is very tight and almost impossible to get on.
Also went to the DMV web site ( >www.dmv.ca.gov ) to have a look at getting a "Special Interest" license plate ,AKA Environmental License Plate, or ELP. Ones currently available.... Ones not available .... |

Finished off work on the gearbox: Fitted speedo' takeoff and reversing light switch. Fitted carburetor and intake manifold assembly to the engine and put the air filters on .... WOW!! It's looking really great now! Attached fan and radiator to the front of the car. Adjusted the static timing by positioning the distributor arm over one of the spark plug takeoffs on the distributor cap when the pointer on the crankshaft pully was 14 degrees Before Top Dead Centre. This is very rough and was only done to get the gear teeth on the distributor rotor shaft right with respect to the teeth on the cam shaft. The timing will have to be done properly when the engine is in the car and with the battery connected.
